  • Bengals' Samaje Perine: Added to injury report

Perine (knee) was listed as a non-participant at the Bengals' practice Thursday.

Perine was added to the injury report with an apparent knee injury after opening the week without a listed practice status Wednesday. The running back turned five carries into 20 yards and reeled in all three of his targets for 30 yards during the team's 33-27 win over the Buccaneers in Week 1, but he may have suffered a knee injury at some point during the contest. Perine will have another chance to practice Friday, but if he can't go Sunday against Houston, Tahj Brooks would stand to operate as the team's primary backup option behind Chase Brown in Cincinnati's backfield.

  • Bengals' Joe Burrow: Gets in another limited session

Burrow (back) was listed as a limited participant on Thursday's injury report, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.

Burrow was limited for the second time in as many days, but he was able to throw passes and take part in positional drills during the portion of Thursday's session open to the media, which is more than he was able to do the day before. Burrow said Wednesday that he is planning to play in Week 2, and he seemingly remains on track to do so.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Not worried about knee

Chase said Thursday that his knee feels great, Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Chase sustained a knee injury in practice Aug. 25 but hasn't seemed bothered by it recently, as he suited up for the Week 1 win over the Buccaneers and has been practicing without limitations ahead of Sunday's road matchup with Houston. The star wide receiver had a disappointing 12 receiving yards against the Buccaneers, but starting slow has become the norm for Chase, who had 39, 62 and 26 receiving yards in the preceding three season openers. He bounced back from his 26-yard Week 1 showing in 2025 with 165 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.

  • Bengals' Joe Burrow: Returns to drills Thursday

Burrow (back) is participating in positional drills Thursday, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.

Burrow missed practice Wednesday due to back tightness but said he intends to play Sunday against the Texans. Thursday's appearance in practice marks a step in the right direction for the star QB, though it remains to be seen whether he will ultimately go down as a limited or full participant. Either way, Burrow looks poised to suit up this weekend, barring a setback.

  • Bengals' Shemar Stewart: Logs full practice Wednesday

Stewart (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Stewart did not play in the Bengals' 33-27 Week 1 win over the Buccaneers due to a hyperextended knee that he sustained in a training camp practice in late July. However, his ability to practice in full Wednesday indicates that he'll be available to make his 2026 debut this Sunday against the Texans. Stewart appeared in eight regular-season games last year, finishing with 11 tackles (five solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense.

  • Bengals' Joe Burrow: Dealing with back tightness, expects to play

Burrow is dealing with back tightness but says he will play Sunday against the Texans, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Per Conway, Burrow threw only one pass during media viewing and was primarily working on handoffs at Wednesday's practice. Burrow later spoke with the media and mentioned dealing with back stiffness, but he added that he'll play Week 2. He didn't confirm whether he'll practice for the remainder of the week, however. Joe Flacco figures to get increased work with the starters in practice, but at this stage it appears Burrow will be able to suit up Sunday.
