  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Thumped by Yankees

Messick (6-3) took the loss Wednesday as the Guardians fell 8-4 to the Yankees, giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

While the 25-year-old southpaw was able to keep the ball in the yard, triples by Jazz Chisholm in the second inning and Trent Grisham in the sixth played big roles in a pair of three-run frames for the visitors. It was the first time since May 3 that Messick has been tagged for more than three runs in a start, but after two stellar months to begin the season, he's kicked off June by going 0-2 in two outings with a 5.56 ERA and 8:4 K:BB in 11.1 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Milwaukee.

  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Tagged with loss vs. Texas

Messick (6-2) was tagged with the loss Friday against the Rangers after allowing three runs on five hits, including two home runs, and a walk across 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

Messick was tagged with the loss for just the second time this season -- and the first since May 3 -- but still posted a decent line while ending up one out shy of what would've been a quality start. Messick also extended his streak of games with three or fewer earned runs allowed to six, posting a 2.41 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with a 9.1 K/9 across 33.2 frames during that span. The left-hander will aim to get back in the win column in his next start, scheduled for at home against the Yankees.

  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Outstanding campaign continues

Messick took a no-decision Saturday against the Red Sox, allowing one run on five hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out four.

Despite matching a season low in strikeouts, Messick continued to deal for Guardians on Saturday. The 25-year-old left-hander pitched at least five innings while surrendering two runs or fewer for the 10th time already this year, having now worked at least five frames in all 12 of his starts. Messick will take an excellent 2.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 74:21 K:BB over 69.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Rangers in Texas.

  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Improves to 6-1

Messick (6-1) earned the win Sunday over the Phillies, allowing five hits and two walks over 5.2 scoreless innings. He struck out six.

While Messick came an out shy of logging a quality start, the left-hander was able to keep the Phillies off the board en route to his third win in his last four outings. Messick's ERA is down to 2.24 through 11 starts (64.1 innings) this year with a 1.04 WHIP and 70:19 K:BB. He'll look to keep rolling his next time out, tentatively scheduled to come at home against the Red Sox.

  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Settles for no-decision Tuesday

Messick didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Tigers, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.

A two-run homer by Spencer Torkelson in the second inning and a throwing error by Austin Hedges in the fourth accounted for all the damage off Messick, who left the mound after 81 pitches (45 strikes) with the score tied 3-3. The southpaw has allowed more than two earned runs only twice in 10 starts this season, and through 58.2 innings he sports a 2.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 64:17 K:BB as he steams toward a breakout campaign. Messick will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Philadelphia.

  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Racks up seven Ks in win

Messick (5-1) picked up the win in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Angels, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out seven.

A fifth-inning cutter to Zach Neto wound up soaring over the left-field wall for a two-run homer, but it was the only real mistake Messick made en route to his fourth quality start of the season. The southpaw has allowed more than three runs in an outing only once so far in 2026, posting a 2.35 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 58:14 K:BB through 53.2 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Detroit.

  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Fans seven in win

Messick (4-1) earned the win Friday against Minnesota, giving up one earned run on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

Messick was cruising on the mound for the majority of his start, but things took a quick turn in the sixth when he allowed five consecutive batters to record a hit. Ryan Jeffers' RBI single was the lone blemish on Messick's line, though there could have been another if Petey Halpin hadn't cut down Jeffers at the plate from center field. Messick will take an impressive 2.30 ERA and 0.98 WHIP into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to come against the Angels on Wednesday.

  • Guardians' Parker Messick: Surrenders four runs in first loss

Messick (3-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on six hits and no walks over five innings against the Athletics. He struck out six.

Messick was done in by the long ball, as the 25-year-old served up three homers in his first loss of 2026. Home runs hadn't been an issue for the southpaw through his first six starts, as he had allowed just one homer prior to Sunday's outing. While the start in Sacramento wasn't his best, the second-year hurler's overall numbers remain strong, as he owns a 2.40 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with a 44:10 K:BB across 41.1 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column his next time out, tentatively scheduled for Friday against the Twins.
