Joe Alt LAC OT
Chargers' Joe Alt: Announces injury update
11h agoAlt (ankle) said Wednesday that he doesn't expect his injured ankle to be a problem for training camp, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.
Alt is making good progress in his recovery from an ankle injury suffered last season. The 23-year-old has been getting reps in practice everyday and will resume his role as the starting right tackle once healthy.

Rashawn Slater LAC OT
Chargers' Rashawn Slater: Should return for training camp
11h agoSlater (kneecap) said Wednesday that he should be cleared for training camp, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.
Slater is closer to returning from the knee injury that forced him to miss the entirety of the 2025 campaign. Once healthy, the 27-year-old should resume his role as the team's starting left tackle for the upcoming campaign.

Jonathon Brooks CAR RB
Panthers' Jonathon Brooks: Being eased back in
11h agoBrooks didn't participate in team drills during Tuesday's OTA session, Alex Zietlow of the Charlotte Observer reports.
That said, Brooks participated in individual drills Tuesday, with his limitations characterized by coach Dave Canales as "just a rest day." Given the running back's injury history, notably two ACL tears, it's not surprising that the team is inclined to ramp up the 2024 second-rounder's workload deliberately with an eye toward ensuring he's at full strength once the regular season arrives. In terms of how Brooks has looked in OTAs, Canales noted "JB's looked great, in the run game certainly, but also in the pass game. He has a great ability to catch the ball, track it, and transition once he catches it." With Rico Dowdle now with the Steelers, Brooks -- who missed the entire 2025 season -- has an opportunity to claim a notable backfield role alongside Chuba Hubbard in 2026, provided he can stay on the field.

Markees Watts CLE LB
Browns' Markees Watts: Lands on reserve/retired list
11h agoThe Browns placed Watts (undisclosed) on the reserve/retired list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Watts is retiring despite having just signed with the Browns earlier this year. The 26-year-old finished his career with 13 tackles (six solo), including 1.5 sacks, across 22 games, all with the Buccaneers.
-
Ben Bredeson TB G
Buccaneers' Ben Bredeson: Returns from injury
11h agoBredeson (knee) participated in Tampa Bay's offseason training activities Tuesday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Timesreports.
Bredeson is healthy again after having recovered from a knee injury that held him out of the final four games of the 2025 campaign. The 28-year-old is expected to serve as the Buccaneers starting left guard once again during the upcoming season.
-
Erick All CIN TE
Bengals' Erick All: Participating in OTAs
12h agoAll (knee) participated in Cincinnati's offseason training activities Tuesday, Paul Dehner of The Athletic reports.
All is making progress in his recovery from a torn ACL that held him out of the entirety of last season. The 25-year-old last appeared in a regular-season game in 2024 but will look to make his return during the upcoming campaign.

Yoendrys Gomez MIN RP
Twins' Yoendrys Gomez: Records fourth save Tuesday
2m agoGomez picked up the save in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the White Sox, recording a pair of strikeouts over 1.1 hitless and scoreless innings.
Since being acquired from the Rays earlier this season, Gomez has become a reliable late-innings arm for manager Derek Shelton and is a perfect 3-for-3 on save chances with Minnesota. Across 12.2 innings with the Twins, Gomez has allowed just two runs (one earned) on six hits with a 16:4 K:BB. He's struck out nearly one-third (32.7 percent) of the batters he's faced.
-
Christian Arroyo NYM 2B
Mets' Christian Arroyo: Re-signs with Mets
4m agoThe Mets re-signed Arroyo to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Arroyo exercised the opt-out clause in his minor-league deal Monday but quickly agreed to a new contract a day later. The 31-year-old infielder has slashed .304/.333/.446 with five home runs at Triple-A Syracuse this season.
-
Connor Prielipp MIN SP
Twins' Connor Prielipp: Strikes out seven in win Tuesday
9m agoPrielipp (2-3) picked up the win Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts across six innings.
Making his eighth career start, the rookie Prielipp matched his season high with six innings pitched and generated a season-best 12 swinging strikes on his 94 pitches. After a strong start to his season, Prielipp has surrendered 15 runs on 21 hits and eight walks over his last three starts spanning 14.1 innings. The left-hander owns a 5.26 ERA and 42:17 K:BB across 38.1 innings. After back-to-back starts against the White Sox, Prielipp is slated to face the Royals at home this weekend.
-
Lucas Erceg KC RP
Royals' Lucas Erceg: Blows another save Tuesday
17m agoErceg blew the save in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Reds, allowing one run on one hit and two walks with two strikeouts in the ninth inning.
Tasked to protect a 3-2 lead, Erceg came on and allowed a leadoff homer to pinch-hitter Will Benson to tie the game. He then walked a pair before getting an inning-ending strikeout. Erceg has been dreadful in his last four outings, surrendering nine runs on 14 hits and two walks with three strikeouts across three innings. He has three blown saves in that span, and it's fair to wonder if he's not 100 percent healthy. Erceg has six blown saves in 17 chances this season, while his ERA has ballooned to 6.45 with a 20:15 K:BB across 22.1 innings.
-
Noah Cameron KC SP
Royals' Noah Cameron: Dazzles over 7 IP in no-decision
23m agoCameron didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Reds, allowing one run on one hit and no walks with eight strikeouts across seven innings.
It was arguably Cameron's best start of the season and perhaps his career, as he matched his career high in innings pitched. His only blemish was a solo homer allowed to Spencer Steer in the fifth inning. Cameron retired all other 21 batters he faced, and it still wasn't enough to get the win after the Kansas City bullpen gave up one run each in the eighth, ninth and 10th innings in the extra-inning loss. Cameron has three quality starts in his last four outings and owns a 4.22 ERA and 56:17 K:BB across 59.2 innings this season. His 3.38 FIP suggests he's been a bit unlucky, and the left-hander's strikeout rate is up while his walk rate is down compared to his 2025 rookie campaign.
-
Spencer Steer CIN LF
Reds' Spencer Steer: Pops two homers in win
30m agoSteer went 2-for-4 with two solo homers and three runs scored in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Royals.
Both of Steer's homers came against lefties, taking starter Noah Cameron deep in the fifth inning before tagging reliever Matt Strahm for a solo blast in the eighth. It was Steer's first multi-homer game of the season and snapped an 18-game home run drought. Since the beginning May, Steer is hitting .312 with four home runs, 13 RBI, 24 runs scored and an .848 OPS. For the season, Steer is slashing .277/.351/.461 with nine home runs, 23 RBI, 37 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 21:48 BB:K across 231 plate appearances.

Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Limited during Sunday's practice
3d agoHead coach Mike Brown said Robinson (finger) was limited to individual work in Sunday's practice, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Robinson was diagnosed with a broken right pinky finger Thursday and underwent surgery shortly thereafter. Shams Charania of ESPN reported Friday that the big man intends to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Spurs on Wednesday, though he's expected to wear a protective brace on his hand moving forward. The Knicks are expected to provide an update on his status by Tuesday night at the latest.

Nikola Topic OKC PG
Thunder's Nikola Topic: Logs DNP in season-ending loss
3d agoTopic did not see the floor in Saturday's 111-103 loss to the Spurs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.
Topic appeared in nine games this postseason, though he never logged more than six garbage-time minutes. The 20-year-old missed the entire 2024-25 season due to a partial ACL tear in his left knee that required surgery. He returned to action during the 2025 Summer League but was later diagnosed with testicular cancer after making one preseason appearance. Topic ultimately made his NBA regular-season debut Feb. 12 and averaged 5.2 points, 4.4 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per showing across 10 regular-season games (two starts) in 2025-26.

Isaiah Joe OKC SG
Thunder's Isaiah Joe: Doesn't see floor in Game 7 loss
3d agoJoe did not see the floor in Saturday's 111-103 loss to the Spurs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.
Although Jalen Williams (hamstring) and Ajay Mitchell (calf) were both unavailable, Joe's inconsistent postseason ended with a DNP-CD in Saturday's do-or-die matchup. The 26-year-old wing made 12 appearances this postseason, during which he averaged 5.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 11.9 minutes per contest. He's under contract for the 2026-27 campaign, and the Thunder hold a team option for 2027-28. Despite his playoff inconsistencies, Joe largely provided a spark off the bench during his fourth season with the Thunder in 2025-26, averaging a career-high 11.1 points along with 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 42.3 percent from downtown in 21.2 minutes per game across 71 regular-season outings (nine starts).
-
Jared McCain OKC SG
Thunder's Jared McCain: Provides spark off bench in Game 7
3d agoMcCain accumulated 12 points (5-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt), one rebound and one steal in 23 minutes during Saturday's 111-103 loss to the Spurs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.
With Cason Wallace stepping into the starting five for Saturday's do-or-die matchup, McCain came off the bench after making two consecutive starts. The 22-year-old guard didn't deliver his most efficient performance, though he still tied the bench high in points and scored in double figures for a third straight game. The Duke product was traded from Philadelphia to Oklahoma City in February after an injury-plagued start to his career that included surgery to repair a torn meniscus in December 2024 and thumb surgery last September. He appeared in 30 regular-season outings (two starts) for the Thunder, averaging 10.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.8 triples and 0.9 assists while shooting 39.1 percent from downtown in 17.9 minutes per contest during that span. He figures to maintain a meaningful bench role for the Thunder in 2026-27.
-
Aaron Wiggins OKC SG
Thunder's Aaron Wiggins: DNP in Game 7 loss
3d agoWiggins did not play in the Thunder's 111-103 loss to the Spurs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.
Wiggins started in 21 of 65 regular-season games and averaged 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.5 threes and 0.9 steals over 21.8 minutes per contest. However, his role diminished in the postseason, and he failed to crack 10-plus minutes in eight of the Thunder's 11 playoff games, including four DNPs. Wiggins is under contract with the Thunder for the next three seasons, with a club option for 2028-29.
-
Kenrich Williams OKC SG
Thunder's Kenrich Williams: Just four minutes in Game 7 loss
3d agoWilliams closed with two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound over four minutes during Saturday's 111-103 loss to the Spurs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.
Williams averaged 16.7 minutes per game off the bench in the three games prior to Saturday's elimination contest. However, he saw just four minutes of action in Game 7 as Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault opted to shorten his rotation. Williams' playing time fluctuated during the 2025-26 campaign, both in the regular season and playoffs. Whether he's back in Oklahoma City depends on whether the Thunder exercise Williams' team option for the 2026-27 season, which is valued at $7.16 million. If he does return, then he'll likely operate in a reserve role behind Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jalen Williams (hamstring).

Jalen Chatfield CAR D
Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Supplies two assists
9h agoChatfield logged two assists, two hits, three blocked shots and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Chatfield has racked up five helpers over his last five contests. The shutdown defenseman doesn't always get significantly involved on offense, but he's done his part as the Hurricanes have worked deeper into the postseason. Overall, he's racked up a goal, six helpers, 24 shots on net, 22 blocked shots, 10 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 14 playoff outings in a top-four role.
-
Jordan Staal CAR C
Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Lights lamp in loss
9h agoStaal scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Staal has scored twice over his last three games. The 37-year-old center continues to offer high-quality work in a middle-six role, including decent depth scoring. This postseason, he has earned three goals, three assists, 21 shots on net, 67 hits, 11 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 14 appearances.
-
Shayne Gostisbehere CAR D
Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Buries goal in loss
9h agoGostisbehere scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Gostisbehere has scored three times and added two assists during a four-game point streak. The defenseman is delivering quality offense late in the playoffs after being held to two assists over his first 10 contests this postseason. He has three goals, four helpers, 22 shots on net, 11 hits, 10 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 14 playoff outings this year.
-
Nikolaj Ehlers CAR LW
Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Strikes twice early in loss
9h agoEhlers scored twice in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Ehlers had put two pucks past Carter Hart just 12:08 into the game. The 30-year-old Ehlers is delivering exactly what the Hurricanes wanted when they signed him last summer. He's picked up seven points over his last five games and a total of six goals, five assists, 27 shots, 12 hits and a plus-5 rating over 13 playoff outings. The winger will continue to play in a middle-six role alongside Jordan Staal.
-
Frederik Andersen CAR G
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Struggles in Game 1 loss
9h agoAndersen stopped 18 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Hurricanes scored the first two goals, but Andersen couldn't hold that lead. The 36-year-old started this round much like he did in the Eastern Conference Finals versus the Canadiens. After a bad Game 1 loss, he'll be looking to bounce back in Game 2 on Thursday. Andersen is 12-2 with a 1.65 GAA and a .920 save percentage over 14 starts this postseason.
-
Colton Sissons LV C
Golden Knights' Colton Sissons: Pockets helper in Game 1 win
9h agoSissons logged an assist, two shots on goal, four hits and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Sissons set up Tomas Hertl for the game-winning tally with 3:24 left in the third period. The helper was just Sissons' third point in his last 11 contests. In the postseason, he has accumulated two goals, five helpers, 16 shots on net, 48 hits, 19 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 17 outings while filling a bottom-six role.
